2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission Thermostat Suposed to Come with Gasket?

Hey guys, Got Thermostat from dodge today and was wandering if there is supposed to be a gasket with them. It has a rubber coating on the outside edge of the thermostat, is the gasket built into the thermostat, should i put rtv sealant on it also?



Any help would be great

No gasket. Just drop it in and bolt it back together.

Mine had a big O-ring on the housing... cleaned everything up and bolted it back together with no problems.

The rubber seals are normally re-useable. No gaskets.

I reused mine twice and the second time it began leaking badly. If you can, buy the gasket. napa has them cheap. I will put a new one on every time I change the t-stat now. Live and learn.
