well, i was running this weekend from indiana to florida. very hot weather. i noticed that my stat was not cycling like it had been on previous trips. did the heat fix my tstat? or do these things just cycle? by cycling, i mean constantly going from 150 to 180F back and forth..... i have the new tstat but have not put it in. thanks for any comments.

I have a 2000, mine cycles from 195-185. But after I have been on the road for over 1 hour it seems to stop cycling and stay right at 190. I know its weird, but that is one of the things I like about these trucks.

If the temps are hot enough outside, the engine will finally make enough heat that the t-stat no longer cycles. Gotta love the efficient cool running Cummins. I would have killed to have had my old chevy 6. 5 turdo diesel run as cool.
