We've all heard the stories about the truck owned by an elderly couple that they used for pulling their RV 3 times a year and it barely ever got dirty, right?? Well, they really do exist. I put a GN hitch in one last night.

The guy bought a hitch for his '97 CTD a couple months ago and he came back for another one, again for a '97.

He came across a '97 3500 DRW Ex Cab 5 spd 3. 54 with 76,000 miles. It's not in perfect condition, it has a few dings in the box and some relatively severe hail damage, but it's one of the nicest 9 year old trucks I've ever seen. The interior is flawless. Engine compartment is cleaner and more oil free than my '04. The underside of the truck is showing no signs of rust.

Runs like a dream. Has 4" turbo back exhaust. New owner put in a K+N setup. I think he said his first tank he got 19mpg, and some of that was with a badly plugged air filter.

I think he said he paid around $11-12K.

They sure do exist. When my '04. 5 is 10 years old, at this rate, it'll have about 45-50k on the odometer. My problem is that my O. C. D. (obsessive compulsive disorder) prevents me from enjoying my stuff! The good part is, all my stuff is like new forever. It's a blessing and a curse. :p

My older neighbor has a 98 long bed quad cab 4X4 12valver with 17,831 miles on it. He starts it four times a year and has it stored in his barn. Its red and mint. no scratches, no dings no dents, Never pulled, never abused, never sees the light of day. hitch has never even had a ball. has new tires on it as of last year. He never drives it. its got a manual transmission with 3:54 gears. he won't sell it yet. The saddest part is its stock, pure bone stock. if that don't make you cry... . well you weird. ;)

I bought my 96 2 years ago it had 46,000 on it and it belonged to an older fella now it has almost 88,000 :-laf

2001. 5 Sport sitting here in the garage with just over 18000 miles on it,still in the process of building it up i guess. A few people want to be notified when/if i sell it but i most likely will be buried in it :-laf :-laf :-laf with the price of new rigs today and the fact that i have soooo much into this one. I'd take a really big hit in the wallet if i let her go now, besides it still puts a bigass grin on my face eveytime i drive it so why sell. Next years mods are already being saved for---Road armour bumpers/Fluidamper/ARP headstuds/Centermatics and a few cosmetic pieces. Still having fun, later DW

My dad had a 96 2WD 5speed 12 valver. 70,000 miles. He always asks me what new truck he should buy. I say "Just paint it!!!" He has mileage and reliability unmatched by the newer trucks.

Its a automatic and has a goerend built transmission but beside that it stock. I will neve let it go.

Not crying, I'm just coming to steal it...

My truck has spent every day of its life garaged when we're not out on a trip with the 5th wheel. Delo 400 and Fleetguard Stratapore every 3000 miles. At this time, the truck has 31K miles and looks like new.
