I looked at a Cummins engine today in a piece of heavy equipment. It was a "B" series engine. It had a hole in the head at the #6 cylinder location right where the manifold bolts to the head. The hole was in the head and not in the manifold. It seems that Cummins had an issue in those early years with some thin wall castings right in this area. Can anyone confirm that?
