Thin paint/2001 dually/Solid colors

I was looking at some 2001 3500 duallys in all white and all black and I noticed that on the drivers side right behind the fender where the body curves( 2 curves) the paint is so thin that you can see the primer. I think that the fenders are put on then painted. I've seen this on three black and white trucks. All made here. This only appears on the drivers side. Please check your trucks for this. I have not yet seen this on metalic or pearl colors. Joe

When I purchased mine a few months ago the light silver trucks all looked really bad. They were not a consistant color down the sides. They faded in and out. It was like they had more paint in some places... the rest of the colors seemed to be okay... CJ

--->This Thread I Posted<--- A while back and for this weekend the truck needs to be pretty so I will be Micrograining (Followed by finesse~it) the fenders to pull down the clear and hopefully re sealing it with Zymol's Platinum wax. That'l last for a bit but full pics are in the works to show the difference (I bet it will be only margianal)

I had to have my passenger rear fender extension re-painted. the paint on the top lip was peeling, in places it was peeling you could see right through to the yellow color of the fiberglass. The color is Patriot blue
