Think I toasted my engine!!!

Manual to Auto Conversion COMPLETE

Well today I went ahead and did my fuel tank vent mod to my truck. . After driving approx 30 miles I noticed my truck had a slight tick that went away after I revved it a few times. . I did'nt even run it hard. I always keep the tst on 1/0, bullydog power pup on tow. . Egts were normal, and boost was normal. After another 5 miles the tick came back, I shut it off and checked my oil and listened to the engine. . I turned it off for about 30 min and went to crank it up again now this thing knocks like crazy and shakes the whole truck I turned it off immediately and called Hot rod diesel from Hitchcock tx. . He told me he is really busy and might to get to pull it apart next week some time to let me know the carnage..... I see this as perfect time to have my stage cp3, head studs, and silver 66 installed... . Does any one else have any suggestions that I should do if he has to pull the engine??? I'm thinking of having the head ported and polished, and possibly a cam with springs... Let me know what ya think. .

I had the same symtons and it turned out to be a injector. Try pulling 1 injector plug at a time see if you can isolate the knock. I thought it was a droped valve seat.

well a ticking sound after opperating temp is overcome is bad, it is one of two things---a valve seat is dropping, or a injector is bad and dumping fuel in to the combustion chamber at the wrong time, causeing a knock and rough idle. i would not drive it untill it's looked at as it could be a very exspensive fix otherwise. let us know if we can help. hope this points you in the right direction.
 
I hope it is not a dropped valve... I will not drive it. . I am gonna take it to the shop and get them to look at it... I have wanting to get the new cp3 and silver 66 on... Thanks for the suggestions I will let him know... . Wesley
