Hey now !!!!! Ill be back up in Gerlach next Tuesday, keep your rabbits off the damn road !! #@$%!

My sister has an '03 Jetta, My dad has an '06 beetle TDI, and my wife has an '04 Passat turbo 4 gasser. All are great cars, and the TDI is the way to go, but if not the TDI, skip the V6 and get the turbo I-4 gas. Snappy little engine, and our Passat gets about 35mpg highway (manual trans).

My 2000 TDi is the biggest POS Ive ever owned!

Its been to the dealer for everything. It only has 95,000 on it and has burned "oil" since new . Getting VW to fix anything other than what they feel like was a challenge.

Go to Carrs.com or Epinions.com and look at the posted replys about cars. Last time I checked, VW had the most negitive posts.

Im going back to buying cheap junkers and run them till they die.

Bought our 06 Jetta in May. Have 6,700 mile of 98% city driving. First 3 to 5 tanks got 35+ mpg (all city driving). When ULSD started hitting tanks (late June in Major Cities) dropped to a consistent 31 to 32 mpg (again, 100% city driving, a/c never turned off, 98+ degrees with 90% humidity).

Only one long trip, got 45 mpg hand calculated over 850 miles, a/c NEVER turned off, outside temp 99+ degrees. Had four adults and luggage 65 to 80 mph on interstate.

No problems yet.
