im thinking about putting injectors in my 600.

massdiesel is going to do all the work. i'm thinking about a PMCR with guages, 100hp injectors and a larger turbo. oh, yea, he's also putting in a DTT valve body for the time being till i can afford the whole transmission. right now i have a pro guard 7 with torque tube, and today i'm removing he cat and putting on a straight through walker muffer. id like all who is close to this setup to chime in and let me know how you like it, driveability,etc... . thanks in advance... james :D

I think you need to save the money that you are going to spend on your performance mods and get the transmission done first. You will NEVER be able to use the PMCR to its fullest with a stock TC, much less throw in a set of 100hp injectors.

Secondly, I am running a similar setup in my 03', You need several other items to make this a wise setup. For starters you will need a fuel delivery improvement. I run DD's pusher pump and big line kit, which is working well, FASS would be a great option.

If I were you, I would hold off on any injectors until you can afford to perform your transmission mods or a full replacement, and fuel system improvements.

Lonestar

Tobacco,

Listen to Lonestar! Do the transmission first, TC, VB and Lock Up controller at the VERY LEAST. Trust me on this. With just my new injectors and Edge, my stock transmission would have been toast. And God knows what would have happened with my stock turbo. I know that the transmission seems exspensive to upgrade, but it is still cheaper then grenading one. I collected parts for the past year, did the transmission a few months ago, then collected the engine stuff, injectors, turbo, manifold, FASS, BullyDog etc. All of that was installed as a package, AFTER my transmission upgrade, and after all of the needed parts were purchased. Like Lonestar alluded to, you change out one thing, something else needs to be upgraded to do everything right, and have a reliable high hp rig. This approach is much easier on the wallet in the long run. Remember, you will be your own warranty station.

I know once you get a taste of what these babys can do, you will want to start pushing the envelope. Do some more research and start saving your pennies. God I sound like my father!

i fully understand i will need he transmission. the reason for the PMCR is for the guages and the fuel pressure. i won't be turning it way up. just it's my understanding i need some sort of fueling box to get the injectors to work properly. i definatly need to ditch the stock turbo. 9cm is just too small! do you guy's think the pmcr sen not higher then 2-2 and injectors and new turbo will smoke my transmission with a DTT valve body? i really want the injectors for fuel milage improvements. i'd be happy with just injectors, valve body and a new turbo if it would work. and with the pmcr, i have the guages and the ability to play with the power when i have the transmission fully done next winter!

James,

It might, and I doubt if the clutch pack will hold up, thus requiring a complete transmission overhaul down the road $$$. I was having clutch wear from just an Edge EZ and no transmission mods. I can't imagine doing what you want to do will allow you to go till next winter, without doing serious damage to your transmission.

I would hold off on the injectors and use that money for the TC. I don't know what you are paying parts wise. But you might want to shop around, there is ATS and BD Power out there also for transmission upgrades. Most local transmission shops can do the install, mine ran me $700. I probably could have gotten it done cheaper elsewhere, but this shop had done a few CTD's and were Mopar fans.

I think you are looking at trouble down the road by putting your transmission on hold. And I would not tow anything of any substantial weight until the transmission is done with your current plans.

You know what, give Rick at Dave's Diesel a call 260-665-5396. He builds transmissions for our trucks. He is an ATS and BD Power dealer/installer, and has done work with DTT. He also has the injectors, turbos and boxes from all the big guys, TST, Edge, BullyDog, etc. Talk to him, I found him to be pretty impartial, real big on quality parts, not name brands.
