Hello everyone,

I'm ready to replace the suspension in my truck and i'm thinking 2. 5 skyjacker.

i have the daystar leveling kit now and i am wondering if the 2. 5 will sit level??? it's a bit nose high right now, so i'm hopeing that the system will level it out, i plan to take the pucks out.

what do you all think of your skyjacker??? best bang for buck??? standard or single flex?? i was thinking standard... . any input would be great before i drop 1500$$

What size tires???

Thank you all!!!

I have the full 2. 5" Skyjacker kit installed on my truck, everything except the rear add-a-leaf springs, as I didn't want the truck sitting *** high again. I also have the double flex version - which you didn't specifically ask about.

My truck sits as close perfectly level as I can tell. No problems to date, and I have had it for about 4 years and probably 70K miles now. I still have my original tires and wheels, though.

I am still quite happy with it. Though if I were going from scratch again and starting with a completely stock suspension - and had the $$$$$$ - I would prefer to go with the Trex full offroad racing suspension. Last I talked with those folks, that setup was on the order of ~$3500 - and that didn't cover installation. Of course that was at least 3 or 4 years ago... .

FWIW, I have the D25 coils ONLY from that lift and they do give the truck a level stance (check my gallery). If you go the spring-only route, you'll need to pick up a set of shocks as the stockers are too short when fully extended. The tires on the truck in my gallery are 295/75/16's in the pic showing the front spring, and 315/75/16's on the stock rims in the side shot.

I decided not to go the full-on single flex route as my funds at the time were a bit limited. Just springs and shocks on the front ran closer to $250-275 with shipping. Whatever you do, make sure to get an alignment afterwards!!

I put the single flex kit on my '02 only a few months after I bought it, and as far as I can tell it sits as close to level as possible. I have some 35" Pro Comps on 17 and I don't have any tire rub problems so far and I've had them on there for about 80K miles, so the front coils have settled long ago. I think it rides a lot better with the new fronts coils also. As far as towing with it, it doesn't squat in the back anymore than stock, and I tow my skid steer and escavator regularly with it. If I had more money when I put it on back in '02 I might have went a different route(KORE maybe), but overall I'm happy with it.

I agree with Bob about buying a suspension system. Although I would recommend the Kore Recon system. My friends are very happy with the Recon kits in their 2nd gen. hunting and towing rigs.
