How bad of an idea is it to pull with a stock auto with about 75,000 on it?

ok so if all is still stock its cool but once i start to bomb i should bomb the trany along with every thing else? Darn one more thing to bomb lol i think the bomb bug is biting more this year than the skiters so far.

I wouldnt make a career out of pulling with a stock transmission, bombed or not.

If you start to modify the engine for more power, I would definitely modify the transmission.

How much weight? A few thousand pounds is no big deal. Over 7 or 8K, then it makes a difference. Trailer frontal area makes a big difference too.

Im just thinking of giving it a try at a locale thing in the sumer and if i like it i will be working on the trany and probubly go after market. So ill give it a werl and hay if i brack something gives me another reason to buy something caus if it broke i have to upgrade lol.

If I bought a truck with an auto, I would upgrade it first, no matter what, not even a little power, forget pulling.



Fix the transmission, then proceed.

Get yer check book out. It is as addictive as BOMBing. Once you hook, you'll be hooked. (PUN intended) I know one guy that used to own a red amsoil truck that spent so much money on it, he had to sell it to keep from loosing his house. :-laf
