my old 92 is turning into a yard ornament so i am thinking of parting out and selling motor. its good running no major leaks about 185k wondering if 1200 removed and loaded is high or low. i am going to put on craigslist and tdr i am in southern Vt if any one interested.

If a fellow TDR member is looking for an engine like you are offering for sale I may regret expressing this opinion but I think a good running Cummins engine with a known history is probably worth more than that, probably $2500 or more.

You might offer it to a fellow TDR member who is interested at the price you suggested but ask (considerably) more for a craigslist or eBay buyer.

Good luck. I think 2500 is way high. You might get 1200.

I bought a complete truck for the engine for 300. It has 100K miles on it.

Down here in southern New Mexico I would be happy to find a running engine for $1500, of course it would have to be in the truck or on a stand and actually running to pay that.

Remember that reasonable price is proportional to your need. I f my truck was sitting broken and I needed an engine I would be willing to pay more than if I just happened upon one to use as a spare. I wouldn't have passed on the $300 on above though.....

The price of anything is only what a qualified buyer is willing to pay and what an informed seller is willing to accept. Price is relative. Location, condition, convenience, etc.

I guess a good way to get a check of the price of a used Cummins ISB in the used engine market would be to ask a salvage yard what he would charge for one. Salvage yards usually have an internet or fax line connection to the industry.

id start at $2k. it would be gone in a day where im at. lots of people around here want to do a conversion into something or other, and this sounds like a perfect drivetrain donor.

Well... that is a little below normal expectations. Definately not something anyone can expect to do on a regular basis. Nonetheless a great find!
