2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission Third Gen overhead display (temp/compass) to second gen.

A common bug has bit me again, my second overhead display has died on the 95. Just wondering what's involved in switching to a 3 gen unit,,,I know the plug may not match (not sure since I haven't seen a 3 gen unit) and it's designed to do more than just temp/compass.



Is it a reasonably simple change or a "Heck NO" deal. Also what about temp/compass mirror from a GM product.
