Is it possible to load the 555 injection software on the 600? Would that fix the poor mpgs and performance stumble? Does only the dealer have that software? Could any Cummins authorized shop do it for pay, since I would think they wouldn't do that under warranty? Thoughts??

From what is stated in other posts each ecm is shipped without being programmed from cummins and is done by dodge.

On a side note a buddy just bought the snap on programming tool and has been messing with it on his truck some. It has a parameter in it for fuel economy. He hasn't went into it yet but did mess with the truck by shutting off each of his injectors and see what the truck did. He changed his speedo to accomodate the 315's he just put on. Does anyone else have this same tool and done anything else with it?

What about this,... could you take the ECM from a wrecked 555 (junkyard extraction) and change it out with the 600 and get more desireable mpgs, performance etc?

2004 and up have a Cummins program , and yes they can change programing how far you would have to check. 03 have a dodge platform which which really s****. And cannot be change by cummins. 04 and up have options 03 owner will never have,as far as programing goes.

Hey, I was just asking because I was curious. Wasn't meant as a challenge. If I HAD a 600, I would have done the research.

I read a post on Diesel Truck Resource and the guy said that the '03. '04 and '04. 5 all have a three event injection system. If that's true then I guess the major difference must be in the software?
