Make that- UP and to the RIGHT for my transmission. Frank that would be the NV5600 my G56 is to the left and down.

Mark- What option code do you have? Mine has a sticker in the glove box stating "DEE. " Dodge states this is a G56, but that cannot be according to the shift paterns.

But to ***** about something you don't even own, I'll never understand.

You post contained a poor thought out comment about those who own automatics and I commented... . at what point did you become confused about what qualified me to take exception to it

I found this link to help clear some of my confusion. NV5600 Granted it goes only to 2001.

I belive and shiftpatterns confirm that I have an nv 5600. My question is now this: I was charged extra for this so called HD transmission. I was lead to believe that the "HD" was the G56. What transmission is standard in the 3500? Was this an up charge over a 5 speed (which is standard?) Furthermore, is there no upcharge for G56?

Folks- please let's keep on track. If this thread is to remain an attack thread, then I will post a new one. I am really looking for answers

Frank the nv5600 was the hd transmission. same up charge as the G56. Look at it this way there are 2 HD transmission's until the NV5600 are all sold then the G56 is it.

Jeff and Mark-

Yes- you are both correct. I just got off the phone again and they confirmed what you bothg said. The earlier call yielded me incorrect info. And yes... there is an up charge for the "Heavy Duty" NV5600, but not the G56 (according to Dodge) I am not sure what is better to have, but I do like not being a "guinea pig" for a new component. Mark- I'll look forward to talking to you again at an event further about this.

I stand corrected and as for now- the G56 does not apply to me. Thanks for the info folks!

Tim, you CAN and YOU DID whine for months about how dodge made your life miserable. I even offered to sell you my 3 month old 05 6 speed, and you responded with ''I despise RED and I even more despise the sport package" When I brought his up recently in another post, you called me a Moron. . Then you insult the automatic crowd by insinuating that they are not men if they drive automatics. I think if anyone is a candidate for a skirt contest... .

Go figure.

In any event, I haven't seen of one single post here saying that the G56 is inferior. What I have seen is mostly facts, of which point to a lower max torque rating for the g56, and that to cure a bearing problem dodge is now instructing you to overfill the transmissions. The only real issue posted is the too low final ratio in 6th.

I think we would all agree that the dual mass flywheel is probably the weak point of the set up, and time will tell if indeed that is the problem, if any.

I whined for exactly 20 days before my truck was delivered, not, "Months. "

you're right, I do despise red with a passion, and the sport package makes for even more red than a non-sport equipped truck.

At least you admit that there is no conclusive evidence that the G-56 is inferior.

You do speculate that the DMF will be a problem but there is absolutely no evidence to support that statement at this time and until there is, I will not speculate on the durability of the DMF.

I don't have a DRW/longbox, I was just rubbing ya. :D

That's ok, buddy at work has a GMC Duramax/Ali with a longbox, dual wheels, etc. , I get it on a daily basis, I'm used to it.

And I know you dont have a tow rig at all, I made it to Tellico despite my truck hold, remember?
