Here I am

This guy has a Cummins killer 6.2

Thanks, TDR Staff

Looks like a fantastic Diesel MH

History Channel NOW..showing a HUGE ship engine

The 6. 2 is the second most gutless diesel ever put into a full size pickup truck, exceeded only by the infamous 5. 7 GM diesel (formerly an Oldsmobile 350 gas motor).

A friend of mine has a 1/2ton Chevy with a 6. 2 diesel in it, he has the Banks turbo on it and the fueling turned way up. He could barely, and I mean barley get around my other friends '84 Toyota pickup with 5. 29 gears, 35's, and a 22re!!!!

RDLeader, it was like watching two stock VW bugs race a 1/4 mile. It took forever, I think we listened to at least three or four songs on the radio during the evolution. :-laf :-laf :-laf :-laf :-laf

voted for gore

I especially appreciate his political commentary. Sure looks like Dan Quail... Quayle ... Quaile. . however you spell his name... would've had this guys vote all sewn up. I'm not sure this guy is for real? Couldn't get a picture 'cause i was moving too fast but last week I was coming North on I5 past Shasta and there was a CTD winching a Chevy onto a flatbed to get him home. Is that how chevy claims higher mileage?

I think hes getting his exhaust, intake from the parts cars in his yard :-laf

No offense to anyone!

I too have a 6. 2 :( and I also have a spare motor for it, sitting around the barn!

I read an article of a Blazer where they dynoed it, installed the Banks kit and ran it again. As I recall pre-kit was like 95rwHP, afterwards around 150 :-laf

Yah I cant believe am general chose to put that useless chunk of steel in the Humvees. I hope they at least put the duramax in there soon I really don't think you could squeeze a cummins in there too tall

the dmax is going into the H1 very soon [in production now]... and a cummins isb has been squeezed into a H1 also... [did see it for sale on ebay a while back. was a yellow one] :D

I gotta give credit where credit is due. Looks as though the Chinese were smart enough to copy the HMMWV and power it with a REAL diesel engine:

"The DongFeng EQ2050 features re-designed lights and radiator, and is powered by a Cummins 4B TA A 103 kW turbo-charged diesel, with a 5-speed gear box and a 2-speed transfer box . "

I really don't think that Cheby guy is for real... I think he is just pulling someones chain. "Exhaust off a chevelle, intake off a MoneCarlo" come on the guy can't be serious!

The new HMMWV's (military) have 6. 5 Turbos in them, a big improvement but I think reliability is now the issue. Those 6. 2's ran forever, even with us beating on them hard but, boy, they are gutless. 70mph is all they can muster, if you turn the pump up you can get 75-80mph, but the overspeed light stays on... ... ... ..... :-laf

Your right about the 6. 5 TD reliability. I have a '93 6. 5TD and the useless thing has been rebuilt twice in the last 50,000mi and as of today, it looks like I may need to have it done yet again!

I have seen an H-1 with a Cummins somewhere, but I don't know how much work it was to get it in there.

There was a post with pictures of a H-1 civillian hummer on here a while back and it had a Cummins swap done on it, definatley a lot of work. It was yellow.
