Yeah, he was thinking of all the hard starting issues those second gen guys are having with their G56 transmissions. :rolleyes:

Ok, took it in, they did the gas tank line recall, and updated the PCM with a part number instead of tsb#. Can anyone decode this #4275086AB please? And they wanted to charge me $85 to enable my high idle :--) . Am I the only one that this seems unacceptable?

If you walk down a street and a tree limb falls, it may have been caused by your shaking of the ground. But that is circumstantial evidence.



In this case, the TSB quoted, originally called for the reflashing of the ECM to raise idle from 750 to 850 rpm, so the truck will shake less, and the transmission will rattle less at idle.

In revision A (that you are quoting above), they decided to replace the DMF flywheel with one that will not resonate near idle speed, (softer or stronger springs). If it now vibrates around 1000 rpm, they put stronger springs. If it vibrates lower, like at 500 rpm, they put softer springs. Softer springs will bottom out more easily with any power adder. They may also have changed the primary or secondary masses of the flywheel (lighter or heavier), while leaving the springs alone.



The fact that somebody's truck may have started more easily after this TSB is just circumstantial evidence. The TSB never mentions hard starting.

If they reflashed it, the new software by law has to be the latest revision in production, and can never go back to an older version, so you will get whatever software is currently in production.
