Holy cow! This is friggin' awesome when you think about it.

A Su-27 flown by the Russian Knights experienced a problem getting the landing gear into its down and locked position. The pilot belly-landed it, sparks aflyin', as it skidded down the runway on the hardpoints under the engine nacelles. It appears the only damage was to the hardpoints and no other part of the aircraft appeared to be damaged. This aircraft was back in service the next day.

(I have found the Tampa based 'free public server' on this website to be the most troublefree download, so I suggest you use that server to download this video clip - it's only a couple of minutes long)

Maybe it was really a Russian plane that hit the Pentagon on 911 huh?

Pretty lame video for a 13M file.

I've got it. When are you passing on?

More vids of some of the coolest aircraft in the world.

First up on the following vid is the Su-30MKI. Check out the thrust vectoring nozzles.

Check out the kick-butt Su-31 (with a 425hp radial engine) flown by the blonde chic -

Sorry Randy, I don't know what to tell ya other than I downloaded it twice w/o any problems and it has played video in RealPlayer just fine.

Did you try a different server?

All audio for me too - all 90MB of it (only took 8 minutes with broadband  ).

Guess they must compress the files if you pay to join?

I don't know what to tell you guys - I just downloaded it again in 2. 5 minutes w/o any problem, and I'm just downright computer illiterate. This time I used one of the NY servers instead of the Tampa server.

If you do manage to get the video downloaded you will see some way cool video of some way cool aircraft, especially of the Su-31 being heavily dogged by the blonde Russian chick where she throws it violently around in the sky - I think I'm in love. :D If you're able to view it, check out where she's pullin' hard in an outside loop at 7:59 and the g force is contorting her face and arms.

On the beginning of this video you will see the incredibly short take-off roll the Su-30K is capable of (and this one doesn't even have thrust vector control). In the rest of the video you will see examples of how skilled pilots are able to make it appear they are defying gravity in a number of instances.

Su-30K and Su-30 demo

Also, FWIW, the Su-31 has a dry weight of around 1,600 lbs. and a take-off weight of about 2,100 lbs. Combine that with a 425 hp engine and you have a pretty darn good power to weight ratio. I'm sure it's a blast to fly - that's why everyone who is into aerobatic aircraft wants one.
