Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) Oil air filter question

Yeah that's right it got me the other day. :{ I need a few part numbers if you all wouldn't mind.

Truck is a 95, auto.

Need part numbers for the :

Gasket between the gear case and block

Gasket between the vacuum pump and the gear case

"O" ring for the inj. pump to gear case

Also going to do a few mods like 60lb. springs and I need the part number for the hose and adapter to put compressed air in to the cyl. head via the inj. hole.

going to put in 3000GSK as well. Anyone ever run 3000GSK and NO plate?

I would like to get the pump serviced bit I know of no reputable diesel shops near by. 190,000 miles could probably stand it.

Any helpful tips or advice would be greatly appreciated.

That is a real bummer. Sorry man.

I can't help directly on part numbers, but if you take the engine serial number and the CPL number to Cummins, they'll get you fixed right up. Both are on the data plate on the timing case next to the fuel injection pump.

Yup, thats a familiar sight. Had the kdp strike my truck at 80k miles. Cracked the timing case in two places. Used JB weld as a temp fix which worked surprisingly well but still had some minor leakage from where the gasket shifted behind the case. Never found the dowel pin, guess its in the oil pan.

Has this caught anyone's attention? If you have been putting it off or don't know about it in the first place (you do now) e-mail me at -- email address removed -- for the instructions on how to prevent this expensive penalty for procrastination.

I am not very familiar with the build of the 1 & 2 gens, but why is the KDP such a major headache for some motors? It seems weird that some motors can go hundreds of thousands of miles with no probs, and yet some cannot even make it to 100k? Seems silly that Cummins would let such a major defect slip by.

No plate is not recommended IMHO, it can cause damage to the rack/governer (i think), or other internal damage. A deep ground #10 or #100 on an auto is a good profile, full forward if yer lookin for HP.

How far are you away from Pittsburgh? Diesel Injection in Cheswick (right off the turnpike) does very good work. Might be good to call them. They could do the 3kgsk for ya at the same time. Theres a Cummins dealer very close to them also.

Do you plan to change the cam while you have it down? Now is the best time. . Prolly a lift pump rebuild also while its so easy to get to. .

Good Luck. .

Yeah we pulled mine apart at the Bomb part at Harolds this spring and the dowel pin was out about 1/8". I had read that it was just a 12v thing, but apparently not the case.

Garrett- Seems to be your streal lately. :( Get the brakes fixed on the rear? That was weird. Never seen that done before.

My KDP fell last June.

Bought another Dana 80 axle to fix the break problem LOL. .

(if you look back you'll see a wheel bearing tore up the spindle of my current axle)
