This mornings server crash (12/11)

Wouldn't you know it - things have been running smoothly for a few days so I decided to try to catch up on some sleep this morning. I've been getting about 3 hours sleep a night all week. 2 hours after I went to bed (around 6 am) the servers went into a loop that took them out of commission. I just got up and got the site back up and running and am researching what happened. I will post and let you know what happened once I know. Sorry for any inconvenience.

yeah, i've been geting some weird messages in the last couple days, still getting one in the reader's rigs. keep up the good work.

I was just made aware of the readers rigs problem at the bottom of the page and I'm working on that right now. What other wierd messages have you gotten? I haven't been made aware of any others.

Just got home - I'm on it. I think I know what it is and it's related to the readers rigs thing - it just hit that first. Now that it spread I'm pretty sure I know what it is. Sorry for the problems.

Let me know if you guys get any more database errors and what they are if you do. I've changed a few settings and rebooted the server. The problem is that our database has grown VERY large and when people do searches of the entire thing it's creating some huge temporary files. Our forum database (just the raw text) alone is now 1. 5 Gb!! We've crossed one of those lines - this stuff ALWAYS seems to happen in waves.

We'll never get rid of 100% of slow queries Gary. Everything's running smooth as can be tonight - the server loads are VERY low. There will always be times when a bunch of people blast the site with traffic all at once. There's nothing indicative of any problem tonight thus far. q

"""' errors left and right this last one i was on page 5 of 8 of days last post and it just wouldnt go to the next page ... . it'd just load a page and say the metioned I refreshed and went back and clicked again and nothing... ... it happened the other day and it may just be a coincidence but ..... every time I hit the next page number on the bottom of the results page its go to (mentioned above) I tried like 3 times and still it wouldnt go finnaly I clicked the next page number on the top of the results page and it went fine???are the bottons configered diffrent or something???'''Note I tried this method just now when I got the (MENTIONED ABOVE) and it didnt help??



NO biggie and Im sure you busy enough but if you get a chance check er' out for me
