Attention: TDR Forum Junkies Last week i went to the local stealer to have a new track bar put on, i've got 28xxx miles on the truck and i just knew the track bar was weak. Not to mention after scaling the truck a couple times to find out i had 3950 lbs sitting on the front axle, i knew it was going. Just a band aid fix before i get a dt unit.
So, the service writer asks if they need to check anything else. I told him, why yes, how about a fuel pressure check for the lift pump? He proceeds to tell me he's never seen one go bad. Major alarm bells went off in my head! He also told me they could do it, but they would have to charge me for the test. I started to tell him about the schrader valve, but thought again, he's so lost..... forget it.
I let them do the trackbar, just because i didn't want to do it and i wanted to get something for free with the warantee. But just a word of warning... . Century motors in wentzville mo has no clue about diesels. Even though their lot is full of brand new diesels, go figure !
