well, i just finished installing a set of twins i picked up Friday night. went and drove the truck, and really wasnt hard on it. saturday, drove it for about 400 miles, really easy on it to see how much better fuel economy i could get with the twins compared to the PS64 i had on before. we were headed to the bar, and we started hearing like a coke can rattling under the truck. then we started hearing a howling noise from the transmission. . and we were like what in the world is that??? then all of a sudden, blahh! the truck dies and luckily i was able to coast off out of traffic. i get out hinking it was a popped turbo, but there was no smell of or sight of oil. then the odor of gear oil came around, and i looked on the fender and oil was everywhere! i looked at the transmission (covered in gear oil) and found a dollar coin size hole in the side of it!! i was and still am soooo mad about it!!:mad: sorry for the long post, but i just needed to vent a little! i think i still have warrany on this rebuilt thing, and thats something else, i just had it completely rebuilt in November!

actually i like the twins a lot! they have an external wastegate on them and i need to do a little fine tuning and replace a couple of the clamps. and i dont remember where on this board i read it, but someone was sayin that they were very quiet... that is amazing how quiet the truck is with them! i can actually hold a conversation next to the truck now, lol! but so far im pretty pleased with them! i was lucky, i finally found my warranty papers, so i can call up the transmission shop and see what we can work out...

got the transmission out of the truck today and took a look at the damage... wow! is all i can say. directly above the fifth gear cluster, there is a plate bolted to the case. there are supposed to be 4 bolts, but guess what... i only have 3! and two of the other bolts could be taken out by hand! only one was tight. . my brand new 1 3/8 input shaft, counter shaft and i believe the main shaft have no more teeth or bearings! lets just say, its DEAD! hopefully they can get me another transmission by the end of the week... i tell ya, if it aint one thing, its a thousand others!!!
