You know when you're driving down the road and pass somebody who's gotten themself into a bit of a bind on the side of the road? Well tonight, that somebody was me. And worst of all, I was driving my beloved CTD! I won't get into the details (it's too embarassing), but I was turning around and my rear end started slipping down into the ditch. I should have thrown it in 4wd right then, but I am too arrogant and power hungry, so I just stepped on the GO pedal and slipped even farther backwards. An hour and a half later, the Wrecker finally pulled me out with his winch to the tune of $100. I'll be seeing State Farm in the morning.

See if you can find anyone who sell's Mastercraft Courser Tires.



I have 33" Mastercraft Courser A/T tires on 16. 5" wheels but they seem to do decent off road. Price will probably be a lot lower than your Bridgestone's too!



I know two guys over on KYDTR (our Pres. & Vice Pres. ) had them on two 4x4 QC Duallys and they had nothing but great things to say about them.

I will toss a vote for the Nitto Terragrappler. They are without a doubt (in my mind anyway) the best all terrain tire that I have ever had. They perform as well as a set of Big O Mud Terrains that I had on the old Ford, and lack all of the noise characteristics. I was extremely happy with thier performance this deer season and I got to try them out in all conditions (dry, wet , muddy, snow, and even a extrememly rocky trail that I should not have even been on).



Not tryin' to start anything here, just addin' my . 02$. Hope you didn't bend the rig up to bad.

I've cobbled together a winch which goes into a hitch receiver for use front or back. Used mostly for humpin' fia'r wood. You could have use such a setup to rig to a parked PSD or Dungamax.



Been there, done that... . Hauled folks out of the ditch, that is

Or someone in a stock 1978 CJ7 could have drove by and pulled out the Dodge. But that would have cost the Dodge a Tow Hook. Like another member here.

All of these stories make me happy I'm probably gonna park my Ram when the weather goes completely HORRIBLE this year and drive my 'ol 79 K20. At least if I end up in a ditch by some strange act I won't be as upset.

Not sure about in TN, but here in Swampeast MO, if you aint kinfolk, they dont stop to help. Heck 24 years ago, when I was a baby, Mom broke down in her old jalopy outside Poplar Bluff in the rain. Several people drove right on by, one old lady finally stopped and gave her a ride to a grocery store to call a tow truck. But, out in Colorado, if you stop to look at the map, 6 people stop to see if you are ok or need help inside of 2 minutes. Cant wait to get back to my adopted home. Missouri- The Scr*w Me State

The last time that happened to me, a young feller pulled me out with his Chivvy. I didn't give a crap what it was. I just wanted out of the mud. I only have two wheel drive but three wheel drive wouldn't have helped where I was.

Same thing here in rural Nevada. I can't tell you how many people have said " oh great I'm broke down in the middle of nowhere but both people that came by stopped to help. "
