Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Those computer codes...

I was driving along this evening and noticed my oil pressure drop to ZERO! Talk about having hysterics!



Immediately pulled over, checked the oil... everything ok. Started it back up, pressure went to where it was supposed to and all was right with the world.



Did the same thing again later! This time, it wouldn't fix itself. I still read no oil pressure. Everything sounds good... I don't notice anything out of the ordinary.



Did the computer code thing... got P1693 and P0523.



The second one, I have found, is oil sensor voltage too high or something like that.



How do I fix this?



I have a 2001 24v HO.

buy a new oil pressure sensor. dont let the dealer re flash your computer.

Do a seach on oil pressure sending unit. Go to Cummins and get the right PN# I had it happen to me and I put in the correct PN# in archives.

Just so you know, P0523 is "Oil Pressure Voltage Too High", this is from the 2000 service manual.
