I know some of you find this funny, but I didn't buy a $41,000. 00 truck that you can't ride 300 miles in. Alright I am disabled with bad Siatic problems but the seats in my 98 never gave me the fits the seats in this 03 are giving me. I am 6'3" and in the 250 pound range and I for one don't this is over the top in weight especially when this was never an issue with my 98 truck. The dealer has replaced the cusion and it is thje same as the one before it. I am told by the dealer that D/C is aware of the problem according to the area D/C rep. Does any one have any encouraging news on this issue? I love the truck except for those rails biting me in th butt causing a great deal of discomfort on any trip. I would appeciate any help you fellows can give me and yes there is grey on the top. Thanks

I mentioned this same thing to the owner of the place I got my Truxedo and bed rails from. He said to push your dealer into fixing the seats in the truck, even if that means sending to an independant upholstry shop to do it. He's friends with the Area DC rep and told me to call him if the dealer wouldn't take care of this as the DC rep had the ability to make them do it. Not sure if this will work or not as I havn't tried it. I purchased Wet Okole seat covers, because I wanted waterproof seats to climb into after boating or hunting, and that actually helped. I may still persue a fix though.

I'm assuming you are talking about the cloth interior??

I have the leather and after a long drive I find myself rutching around in the seat. I have a lesser sciatic problem but start to feel uncomfortable after 2 to 3 hours in the seat.

Thanks Gbiggs I will try that approach and yes Ron I am talking about the cloth 6 way electric seat in a SLT package. The pain really gets to very pronounced and you can actually press down in the rail area of the seat and feel about a 1/4" of foam and seat cover seperating your posteriar from the metal support rails in the seat design. I really think this is very big dissapointment in such a fine truck and DS/C are not giving them away.

I am 6'2 250 and I have an 04. 5 Laramie with leather. I can not feel any rails, frame work or pan at all. There may have been a change, cause my complaint is that they are hard as a rock. Very stiff foam, but worse than that is the size of the seats. They were not designed for someone my size. The base of the seat is not long enough to support my thighs. This is my only complaint about the truck. I just came out of a Ford Crew cab with leather. There seats are much bigger and far more comfortable.

Seats

I hate my seats . Started a post couple months ago about it . Do a search on seats you'll see what other people have done. I just got a seat cushion in the mail Monday and it helps. You know the kind with the little V in the back of it . This is my only real complaint about the truck.

I can't say that I hate my seats at all. I just think that they are a step down from the seats I had in my 2001 Laramie -- I loved those seats. While I don't have the girth that some above have, I can't feel any rail or real discomfort at all with my 2004 seats.

The leather seats in my Laramie are very comfortable to me. They are not as big as the leather seats in my 98. 5 were and they are smaller than the cloth seats in the G3's by about an inch. This has been an issue with some, especially those with longer legs.

I'm 6'5" , but only 190 lbs. and my foam completely split apart under my right cheek. I'm sitting directly on steel! However, I had 51,000 miles when I realized my back and leg pain where getting much worse the more time I spent in the truck.

I went to the dealership and they wouldn't even look at it because of the miles. called DC, they said to take it back and have the service manager look at it. did that, he didn't care. called DC back and they said they'd fix it with a $100 deductable.

I ended up dismantling the seat and taking the foam out, tried a fix myself with hotglue and a cotton t-shirt. it's better, but I'm hoping they redesign the foam somehow before I spend $$$ on the new foam, which is available separately for just a little less than $100

Hey Robobx I feel your pain and what a shame that D/C knowing about this problem wont take any real corrective action. How do they charge $41,000 for a truck and have a decient seat. You need to sit to drive the thing don't you what are they thinking. Other than my seat I really love my truck but if they being D/C don't take corrective action they have seen the last of my business. Who wants a truck that honestly pains you to drive?

I should also add that I had purchased an ext. warr. too. Still wouldn't do a thing! I have driven DC almost exclusively for 14 years and this is what I get for my loyalty... The service manager said he could mention it to the area rep but it would be a waste of breathe. This was the same service dept that told me that the DS u joint isn't covered under the 7/70

The most problem free were the 99 TJ and the 89 Dynasty, the ram and Grand are close behind.
