The other day I went to Fred Meyers and as I was getting out of my truck some guy around my age (25) was driving past in his jacked up F-250 7. 3 PSD. As I walked towards the entrace the Ford came around to leave. Right at the main crosswalk into the store I had to wait for him to go by since he didn't bother to let people cross. Right as he was passing by me he stands into the throttle, engulfs me in a cloud of soot and zooms out of the parking lot. What an idiot.



People like that should be shot if you ask me. That was totally uncalled for and really quite dangerous in a crowded parking lot. Lots of cars & people walking around.



Hopefully someone would be nice enough to torch his truck.

About a month ago, there was a young kid in a 6. 0L doing burnouts between the cars in the WalMart parking lot. Yep... real smart there. Destroy your tires in front of a bunch of people who think you are a complete looser.

True, but I ONLY do that to tailgaters, or other idiots. Or, I go out on a backroad with little to no traffic, and goof off for a little bit.

I was driving my little honda mobile the other day and was unfortunate enough to get by one of those people in rush hour traffic. He was racing from light to light. Every green light he was mashing the go pedal and making one heck of a cloud. Lucky me and the guy behind me at each light got to pull up just behind his pass side door or next to his bed and were the recipient of the cloud for 5 or 6 stoplights. Traffic was such that I couldnt get past/away from him. I was fuming mad.

I have sometimes wished that I could smoke out a few punks in their little cars when they do something stupid in traffic but it's probably best that I don't.



Lately I have been "smoked out" by quite a few losers. I guess they all want me to see how much power they have. A couple of them have been older powerstrokes and I have easily overcome all that "power" :-laf

Yesterday I was in the right lane doing the speed limit and 3rd gen truck passes me with a big cloud.



There will be quite a few people on this site crying when the Feds pass a no smoke law.

I have no problem with smoking out the tail pipe. I love to see mine pour black smoke out at the right time. But to intentionally blow a cloud on a pedestrian and zip off in a crowded parking lot is totally uncalled for.



I'll admit I'll smoke out a tailgater or those annoying rice boxes with the music up so loud I can't even hear mine when they pull up near my tail pipe. Its great to watch smoke roll in the drivers side and out the passenger side. Oo.



I did this to one such ricer and they swerved back at me like they thought I'd move. Go for it retard, my 9,000# truck against your 2,500# car any day of the week. More likely to end up under my axel than push me into the ditch. I'm a nice guy though, I'd call for the ambulance they will need on MY own cell phone using MY minutes. Have fun in traction for the next six months.

But, with a Cummins diesel in the center, chugging along is easy. I get passed constantly, while maintaining the speed limit. I know my truck will not stop, quickly, like a regular auto and I don't tailgate or speed because of it. When tailgaters appear, I throttle down and they pass of their own volition. . they think. I exerted mind control. I've tried to insert a 'strip now' thought when the hot ones (females only) zoom by. . to no effect yet.

... And I am the one who started the thread. . It's called "GREAT SMOKE STORIES!!"... No one ever said they thought that it was 'cool'... I don't condone smoking innocent people for no reason, but If someone is tailgating me, or wants to execute an act of stupidity while driving on a public right of way, I will return the favor with smoke. BUT--- Only if I think it's kind of 'cool'; you hearing me Mr. Moderator?? I can't tell other people what to do, nor can I control their actions. I just thought that I would create a thread, since everyone who has any fuel mods done to their truck knows the smoke capabilities, would have a place to post.



All of y'all with modified trucks, be it a simple chip, or heavily fueled 12 valve and still street legal, cannot tell me that you have not gotten into it some place, or somewhere that there was a decent crowd looking or even no crowd at all.



Dl5treez-- While we are on the topics of **Other Threads**, and you are a moderator, why not bring up the FARTS thread, and lots of other threads that also talk about people who think they're "cool", doing things no different than me discussing emitting excessive amounts of fuel and visible particulate matter (Smoke) like I do... Why just narrow out one group of people, or in this matter one Thread for people who like to see smoke??

Chris, my inclusion of a mention of your thread was to bring to attention that Dodge owners aren't any more innocent of producing excess smoke for no good reason than any of the Brand F or brand C/G ownership---which was a tone the thread was starting to take. None of us are innocent.



Now, as far as your thread goes. I never once singled it out or you out as bad people, etc... ... calm down.



My personal opinion is emitting excessive smoke on the street, for whatever reason, is an act that does nothing but inhibit any progress for diesel engine usage and development in this country.



Think about it--not everyone who smokes cigarettes blows their smoke in other people's faces without regard, or flings their butts out the window 'just cuz'---yet the very small minority who do/did have now created a situation where smoking is prohibited just about everywhere in public. I don't smoke, and am glad I don't have to sit in a restaurant breathing in what I don't choose to light up in front of my face, but do think it's too bad the responsible smokers have to stand outside in the freezing cold because Denny's completely got rid of their smoking sections due to public pressure based on the actions of a small minority of complete idiots.



The same thing is going to happen to diesel engines---actually it already has. If my disagreement with your views about diesel smoke have spun you up so much as to post not only to this thread but you your thread with a "Hey lookie what I did over here hahahaha" response, you either need to A) grow up and act like an adult, or B) seek some professional counseling.



Remember, you could always post your complaints to Robin or Steve if you feel you're being picked on.

wow, i see the ******* match starting, but to me it seems like a simple answer to the problems started here... if you like smoke? great smoke stories. if you are opposed to it... this thread. im personally with chris on this one but i do agree with you guys that smoking is something that should be kept under "control" so to speak. either way smoking can be fun to some and offensive to others, you will never please everyone. i just came from smoking some green peacer hippies in a subaru that definitely deserved it, and i also saw lots of "innocent bystanders" on the sidewalks that had no idea i was in the area, my point being sometimes its warranted sometimes its just idiotic. good luck boys and for us smoke lovers, let the coal roll!! he he just kidding EPA.

I started this thread and I'm not opposed to smoke. I was making a point covering the time and place for it. I was also trying to cover the point of big trucks in general (gas or diesel) and their drivers. Lets face it. When you drive a big truck some people assume you are a jerk and drive like one. I work hard to not convey that msg by being that guy who lets people into traffic, doesn't tailgate, doesn't cut people off & I'm the guy who will stop and pull you out of the ditch every time. I won't even accept money when I do this. All I ask is that if they ever see me stuck somewhere at least stop to see if I'm alright.
