Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) thought i'd get a listen to the turbo without....

the silencer ring... . but, how do you get that little retainer ring out?... . more specifically, what is the special tool required? it seems to be in there tight...

a small screw driver and a pointed blade of a pocket knife and 30 seconds will do the trick

Scott, a couple of small screw drivers will work. Just look for the end of the snap ring, work one screw driver under it and lift, then take the other and chase the lifted ring out of the grove.
