Thoughts and Prayers for a TDR Member

As many of you already know, TDR member Ed Brewer (FastEddie0) was involved in a serious motorcycle accident last Thursday evening. He spent last weekend at U. P. M. C. medical center in Pittsburgh where he was air lifted after his accident. After being released from the hospital earlier this week, Ed developed additional complications from injuries that were initially undetected. He returned to the hospital last evening, and is facing another round of surgeries at 11:30 AM this morning.



Please keep Ed, his family, and those of us close to him in your thoughts and prayers.

Andy (SmokinRam) and I just returned from the hospital. Ed is out of recovery and back in a regular room. From what we understand, the surgery was successful. Ed is very uncomfortable at this point and is highly medicated. We did get to talk to him for quite a while and he is in relatively good spirits for what he has been through.



I'll be sure to keep you updated as his condition progresses over the next few days.

Get well soon Ed! I always hate to see a 2 wheeled brother get hurt. I've been where you are and it can seem like a long road at times but you'll pull through it with the help of friends and family. After my bad wreck (roadracing) I had 3 years of rehab and went almost 10 years without a bike but I got back on 2 wheels 6 years ago. Here's something I read regularly while I was learning to walk again and throughout the rehab:

It is not very realistic to expect that you'll go from where you are now to where you want to be in one quick leap. The most reliable and lasting progress is made one step at a time.



Welcome each step as you take it and reach it. Even though you're not all the way there just yet, you're moving steadily forward. Value and appreciate the progress you've made, then continue moving on. The next step forward awaits you, and with it you'll move even closer.



The reward you seek at the end of the path is given value by every step of the journey. Each moment spent is time well spent when you're moving steadily forward, even if you still have a way to go.



Some steps may be tedious, or complicated, difficult, challenging or uncomfortable (or painful). Yet they are all moving you surely toward the place you want to be.

I added the (or painful) part. Keep your spirits up as much as possible and if you ever need anyone to talk to that has been there let me know!

Update

Just to give you all an update on Ed's recovery...



He should be released from the Hospital today and returning home. He is recovering very well from his surgery and has been off of pain medications for over a day now.



I talked to him late last night and he finally sounds like himself again and he has a very positive attitude on his recovery...



However we all are going to do what we can to keep him on 4 wheels, meaning his 03 Dodge/Cumins, and away from the two wheelers for a while.



Lets all keep Ed and his family in our prayers...

I was wondering how Ed was doing.

I think maybe Ed needs to get Jessy James to build him a trike with a cummins in it. Kinda like the one he built before.

Glade to here is recovering well.

Will keep him in our thoughts and prayers.
