I am looking at an alarm system for my truck and have been doing some shopping around for best prices on the Mopar EVS II Plus System. I believe this system fits my (and my trucks) needs 'cause I've already got keyless entry. One question, I sent an inquiry to Mopar4less two days ago and have not heard anything yet via email! Anyone done it this way or have you just called the number listed on the website and asked for Internet Parts?

Any ideas folks?

Phil

hey phil, I don't think they are that great responding via email, I sent them a parts list for the rear brake conversion last week and haven't heard back from them. Another thing, mention that you are a TDR member, they give a bigger discount to us than to internet sales, saved me around 60 dollars compared to what the dealer prices were around here for the rubber flooring for my truck. As for the alarm, I can't help you there, I'm installing the Crime Guard CG745i3 in my truck, it has lots of good features (and a buttload of wires to connect).

On a side note, the jeeps doing great.

The one time I dealt with them, price was good, shipping was ridiculous. By the time I added them up, I was exactly at what the local dealer wanted.

I bought it through them because it was delivered to my door in two days.

So the high cost of shipping made up for the money you saved on the parts:rolleyes:. Now that makes a lot of sense:rolleyes:

I just may have to re-think this one guys!

I called three dealers in my area and the price of the system was the same for all three but the wiring harness did vary in price amongst them. I believe dealers can set their own prices on parts.

Hey Morph, glad the CJ is doing good! How's the radiator?

Did you have to replace it?Hope you got the truck situation ironed out.

On my order with mopar4less, the 60 bucks I saves took into account the shipping cost. They have 3 different pricing lines, walk in, internet and tdr... . with tdr being the best. the Flooring I bought, at the local dealer here was 360 + tax, the internet price with mopar4less was 329 + 20. 00 shipping, and the tdr price was 289 + 20. 00 shipping. Course, also depends on what you order I guess, cheaper items aren't going to be discounted drastically.

Actually Phil, I'm still driving it with the solder job I did on the radiator, hasn't leaked a bit and is running cool with the around town driving.

I'd give them a call. My 2002 Sport was recently backed into and damaged the rear bumper. Local dealer wanted $705 + tax for a new painted bumper, Mopar4less wanted $412 + shipping (they where guessing approx $50 for shipping).

I may be wrong, but I do not think mopar4less sells accessories for any cheaper than any other stealer. When I purchased the rear wheel liners for my truck, they where cheaper than local. But the Mopar splash guards where the same price as listed in the Mopar accessory catalog. I also priced a keyless entry (stupid me thinking I would not want this option when I placed the factory order) and both local dealer and mopar4less where the same price. I'm betting Mopar4less will not be any cheaper for the Mopar car alarm, but never hurts to try.

Thoughts on the idea

I'm thinking here:eek: :D I'll probably call them later today when I get to work and just out of curiosity see how much better they are compared to the cheapest dealer price I was quoted.

Then I'll go from there.

Take care,

Phil

I've made 4 or 5 different orders with them in the last 3 years, and have had good experiences each time. Their prices were much better than local dealers, the shipping reasonable.

In the past, I've had very good service from them and they have always beat my local dealers prices. I once had a fairly large order in which UPS beat the <crud> out of the box and lost almost all of the contents. Mopar4less sent me out immediate free replacements just based on my word.

Re: Mopar4less

Always check the local stealer's price first.

Also, I always check with Napa on a lot of parts. My Case tractor dealer helps me on occasion for the 5. 9 too.

Everything I have bought from Mopar4less has been cheaper than the dealer's quoted price.

Shipping depends on weight & distance. I bought my clearance lights from them, a hubcap, some electrical switches, etc. etc.

They are actually in Farmington, New Mexico, which is up near the Colo. border. So if you are on the east coast, the shipping costs will tend to eat up some of the savings.

The two guys I always talk to are friendly and helpful, and always give me a price break. I too mention that I am from the TDR, and it helps too. They are small town guys there, and have always come across to me, as dedicated and helpful. I like them and will use them again.

Guess it's one of those things that are easier to explain in person than to put into type.

What I meant was, on say a $40. 00 (dealer price) part, mopar4 less (or waht the hell ever theyre name is) was $15. 00 cheaper.

You say WOW!!!

~but~

The shipping was..... you guessed it. $15. 00.

I dunno bout you, but that's a might steep on the shipping for a throttle cable IMO.

Reason I got it was, my time is worth something. I work beaucoup hours and days. I wanted the part on my doorstep when I had free time... . and it was.

If your time aint worth anything, at least in my case you can get the same part from your dealer at the same price after shipping.

If you want a couple hundred dollar part I think they can save you some money.

Have not been able to get an e-mail response from Mopar4less for 4 months now:mad: . I know I should just call them but I could always get a price from them before through e-mail, then all of a sudden no responses, I even faxed an inquiry in with no response??? I have dealt with them before and was very happy, but I don't know what happened.

Mopar parts

Well I called them yesterday and the gentleman was helpful on the phone, but come to find out I couldn't get a TDR discount:mad: He said since their prices are already low that he couldn't give me anymore of a break on the price. I can understand that the more you order,or the higher priced stuff will get you a deeper discount, but not in this case. When he quoted me a price on the two items and guessed on the shipping,It came out to be about 10 bucks less than my local dealer wanted. I will try other avenues as well now just to see how much of a price variance there is on this stuff(I'm not that tight:D) I just want the best price that's all. Guess I get that from my father:rolleyes:

I found that they ignored my email as well. When you get ignored before you even start, well that tells me something. Ignoring your customers is one sure way to go out of business. I will pay a couple bucks extra through my dealer or someone else. At least the service is good there. I must admit though, that most vendors are pretty good about responding to emails. I expect a response within two business day and I don't really think that is unreasonable. Cheers,

Casey

Hey Phil,

Like BGDUMMY said, check out magauto.com. They are in Mechanicsville, VA so shipping should be reasonable. I've been buying all my OEM parts from them lately. For instance, local dealer wanted $128+tax for a tie rod end. Magauto wanted $87+shipping. About $8-9 I think. I have no experience w/ accessories through them though.

Internet Savings

When you are figuring up the savings, there is about 8-9% sales tax, depending on your state, that usually takes care of the shipping:)

I've been waiting for over a year for responses to a couple of emails to Mopar4Less. Guess they are to busy to bother. I bought the parts I needed from other sources.
