I agree with you... . My 05 gets 16-18 mpg empty, and only around 12 pulling our 5er... ... and my 04 is down to the 9-10 range pulling a 20K lb trailer... .

We do have a 10 L CAT in a larger truck and it runs 8. 5-9. 5 mpg over the past 30K miles... which we are happy with...

I'm guessing if you saw 8-10 you'd be about right...

I'm not gonna call the guy a liar, but I had a 92 GMC 2500 extended cab long bed 4x4 with the 454. I never got 14. I didn't usually do any better that 11 and that was just the truck (no trailer). FWIW

my buddy's dad had a 3500 with a 454 and a 5sp transmission. He said it would pull a house, but if he got 12mpg on the highway EMPTY he was very pleased

Probably looking at between 6 and 9 mpg depending on speed and wind direction. I'll bet he would be very happy with 9. bg

I'll call him a liar because a Chevy 454 has never been known for good mileage. Many years ago my father-in-law had a 3500 SRW Chevy with a 454 and he got about 12 mpg empty and about 7 or 8 mpg pulling his TT.

The F250 big block Furd I had was even worse, however as cheap as gasoline was then, it did'nt matter.

I do not think so, but you need to see what size tires and rear end he has. This could be all down hill fuel mileage too.

I had a 2001 2500 extended cab short box 6L auto that I told my 5er for one season. I could not get above 8 miles to the gallon with a tail wind when pulling, around town 10 to 11 MPG empty and 12 to 13 on the highway best ever.

Thats one reason I bought a Cummins diesel the other is trying to fuel a gas truck with a fiver attached it is not easy.

I'll throw the flag on this play, too. No way, no how is that RV gonna get that mileage unless its off a bridge with a tailwind.
