Goin 85... ?

ha ha, I guess your right. actually I usually set the cruise at 82 on the GPS. which is right at 2300 rpm.

Oh yeah, the 305's are actually about 32 actual inches tall... .

2000rpm puts me right around 70-71mph on the gps.

But, if it were an auto, 2000rpm would be almost 78mph.

I had a 99 2WD with a 3. 54 and pulled a 30 ft. 5th wheel. I put a K&N filter and pulled the muffler and resonator off and ran straight pipes out the back. With the trailor i averaged about 10 to 11. Running empty I got anywhere from 17 to 23, depending on how I drive. As far as pulling the trailor I had no problems unless I had a very strong side wind hitting us. If it was that bad I would slow down to 60 and use 3rd gear.

Mileage with 4.10

My 96 has 4. 10. Loaded down as a service truck running 65-70 it gets 19mpg almost no matter what. I would think the weight of the tools etc would be about the same drag as the 4x4 puts on yours. I know once you break 70 the milage drops quick. Like my old man always told me, slow down and enjoy the country. I have another rear end with 3. 54 in it. I am anxious to see what your swap nets you in mileage.
