Three pod "A" pillar mount & DiPricols

Gentlemen:



I just got my three pod mount from Geno's along with an exhaust pryo, trans temp and boost gauges. I read in an earlier thread that the exhaust pyro gauge didn't match at night because of two sources of illumination (led and incandescent). The other two gauges only have incandescent bulbs.



What should I do to get as close a match as possible?



Also, any suggestions about the installation? Over the existing pillar? Any fit probs? What did you use to attach the ProParts pillar to the OEM pillar... . I'm not wild about self tapping screws... I'm thinking about small button fasteners similar to the type that hold a door trim panel on.



Any help is appeciated.

I just installed my propod last week. I would suggest removing the factory grab handle, cutting the handle off and using your new A-Pillar as a cover for the OEM. The replacement is a little flimsy. I just used the one hole at the top of the propod and the supplied bolt, to bolt into the acutal A-pillar. It worked well for me.



As far as lighting, I just wired it up according to the directions and I dont think it looks bad.

I chose to use an SRT-10 pillar and column mount (gotta six speed), but I have some pix in my gallery showing the day vs night.

I got the three gauge pod with Dipricols, and the only thing I would do different is to get those little green bulb sock covers they sell at any auto parts place or Walmart and put them over the regular bulbs. It's not really enough of a difference in them now, to warrant me taking them out to do this. The earlier gauges were more off color than the later ones we have now. I think that caused a lot of the earlier posts about the color not matching right. They made a change in the later version that more closely matches the factory dash.

I didn't quite understand the answer to the question about the lighting on the pyro gauge. Do you hook up the lamp, the LED, or both for the best match to the others? If I ever get around to installing my new gauges I'd sure like to do it right the first time.



On a related question, I bought a Dipricol fuel pressure gauge and isolator also. What are some recommendations for installation of the isolator. It seems pretty heavy to hang off of a tapped banjo bolt without support. Am I just being conservative or should I get a fuel line and mount the isolator elsewhere on the engine?

I hooked up both. Some do it with only the LEDs. I mounted my isolator on the firewall, to the right of the engine. Right where that lip comes out forward into the engine bay. Have changed the fuel filter with it there and no interference.

Mike sounds like I got the same A-pod and gages you got from Genos. Done had them a couple months and ain't got around to putting them in yet. Just haven't took the time to do it.

I have these same gauges installed in my truck and I am happy with them. Just make sure to hook up both lights on the egt becuase the led light is for the top of the gauge and the other light is for the bottom of the gauge.
