The throttle cable couldn't handle the new linkage and adjustments...

Has anyone else used the Napa replacement? Napa p/n 610-1490 $18. 00-23. 99. Chrysler wants $78. 00 bucks for it, that is a big difference in moneys.

EDIT: The Napa cable I bought is definately not going to work. I am going to make sure I got the right P/N and part even, wow.

Did you get a NAPA throttle cable that works? I have one on order for my 91 5 speed. I hope it fits?

I did not. I called around and the cheapo's are all approx. $20. 00, that is a lot lower than the Chrysler dealership, they quoted $78. 00. With that kind of price difference there is usually a problem or there will be a problem sooner than later. Napa was the only place I called that had a picture of the part, I looked at it and it looked close so I ordered it. It was twice as long as the stock unit and the end that snaps in near the throttle linkage did not fit. I ended up taking the thing apart and using the cable in the old housing, it works. I would like to get a new cable end for the ball at the throttle linkage if anyone has any suggestion I would appreciate one. Looked all over the net for a crimp on. If I did it again I would buy a Lokar throttle cable kit off ebay, I see them on there in kit form with a bracket and return springs etc. It is a nice set-up for under $40. 00.
