Hi dave, did the rod ends you spoke of in your post just snap onto the balls or did they have a tiny spring clip that held them? thx... ///Terry

This is the link you need. Mopar 05011955AB Cummins 4089076. ~$22. https://www.turbodieselregister.com/...e+actuation+rod

Edit: btw those part numbers I gave are a kit. Includes two metal ends, new metal rod, and one metal ball for the pump piece. Known as a throttle auctuation rod.

Those are the part numbers. Cummins pn 4089076, cheaper than Dodge, comes with two metal end caps that snap on, one throttle rod, and one ball that goes on the injection pump end.

I changed mine this week, used 2 small heim joints from a 2nd gen fuel shut off . I welded a 5/16 nut between 2 1/4 inch fine thread bolts. Ground off the riveted ball on the bellcrank and used 1/4 bolts and lock nuts. Works awesome! Gotta get the wife to download pictures to the website this weekend. Total cost-FREEBIE -FREEBIE-

throttle linkage

just a note of caution, I ordered two kits from cummins at the same time and recieved both used one on my 93 the other I took to huntsville to install on my 89. Supprise after pulling the old ends wich broke into many pieces I then started to assemble the new ones to my dismay, both were right hand threads after phone calls to San Diego and to memphis to somewhere in Belguim to Huntsville Dodge I recieved about two days later a replacment parts kit express from S. D. I had also ordered a kit thru Hantsville Dodge carefully explaining the difference between cummins and dodge gasser parts . As suspected my efforts fell on deaf ears the kit they recieved was a horrific conglom of many parts so i was relieved when i was able to reject the part. I installed the kit and adjusted the linkage and as before it made a great difference in throttle response and more in peace of mind. Just a note I have never once got a right part from a dealer on the first try but this problem isn,t just dealers parts it also happens in the aftermarket arena also. All is well now and working good luck the install is a snap.
