My friend is out in the middle of nowere Nevada--his 2001

cummins is running fine then all of a sudden the throttle pedal quits working/ie-he pushes it to the floor and the engine stays idling.

We thought it was his edge ez box last night so he disconnected that and it ran but now he's close to Fallon and it is happening again, any ideas or input?

yep, probably the APPS(tps) mine does the same thing, only it always comes back, there should be a code he can get by turning the key on and off 3 times and leaving it on the third time to look at his odometer it will flash some p codes, then you can look them up or post them, and im sure someone else will look them up for him. either that or its the vp44.

bray:

Tell your friend to disconnect the batteries for about 10min.

Then reconnect, and turn the key to ON (do not start). Then slowly -very- slowly push the go pedal to max, and let off it real slow. Then start the truck. Should work good, if not, he needs a new APPS, which isnt too cheap.

good luck
