on my 97 the short rod down low broke i bot a factory rod



has anybody made an upgrade?



this rod screws into a staggered rod then towards the



pump under it some





any ideas

you might check for recall

my 97 has a recall for the hole throttle linkage to be replace.

a friend of mine works for dodge and he said that it replaces the whole thing. so you would not have to worry about piecing it back together.

I changed one out last summer that was severely bent, but not yet broken.





In this case, the party that worked on the vehicle before I did (a DC diesel tech, who shall remain nameless) was trying to get it to idle faster by adjusting this linkage, rather than the idle stop down on the bottom of the pump linkage.



The pump linkage didn't open all the way, the TPS was way off etc.



The customer was all smiles afterwards. I think DC even paid him for our labor and parts.



Bottom line, if its adjusted properly, it should not be a longevity problem item. The bad ball studs and end links wear over time though.
