Hey guys,

think I remember reading about replacement ball, and socket ends for the throttle linkage, but I can't seem to find the part numbers anywhere on the site. any help would be appreciated. Alos the spring that goes from the throttle linkage to the timing cover area on my truck is broken. Could you guys get me that part number as well? Thanks.

ok, here we go. mopar part#5011956AB, rod kit. list$36. 75, trade$29. 40, cost$22. 05. plenty of stock available

now, in 94 mopar had recall #970 on throttle linkage and cables on p-pump rams. recall part kit#canz9700 includes throttle cable, rod, both ends, return spring, and the little balls the ends snap onto. this kit has no list price but dealer cost is $10. 75! you should be able to buy it for less than 20. 00, but each dealer is different. plenty of stock available. i dont know about the cable, but the rod ends, balls, and spring will work (been on my truck fo over 3 years)

your local parts guy may be quirky about selling you a recall part, but most shouldn't have a problem.

upon further review, throttle rod is not included in the kit, but the new rod ends will screw onto you rod. remember, one is lh thread, the other is rh ;)

Anybody convert over to spherical rod-end style linkage?

We have some spare parts left over from stock on 0-turns.

Sure would be nice to use those instead of the plastic ball/socket set-up.

More positive of a set up and harder to break.

bear with me on this one :) . lately i have posted replies on this site referring to mopar parts. i have posted list, trade, and cost prices. i am not trying to be unethical with this by giving cost, but rather allowing you to make an educated decision on whether or not to purchase parts from you local dealer.

all dealers can sell parts at whatever markup the deem correct. i'm giving you the ability to haggle and possibly get a better deal.

PLEASE, do not go to your local parts guy and spout out that some guy on line told you the cost on the part. it's not gonna make his day, and it's not gonna help your situation.

i will continue to do this as long as it does not become a problem, and hope you will use the info to help keep more of our trucks on the road.

the rod ends in the recall kit are metal, not plastic. another reason to upgrade

there have been 2 upgrades from the cheap originals. I have the first upgrade, and the sockets are now IMPOSSIBLE to get off of the balls, even though one removes the wire. Mom has the second upgrade, and it has sockets about twice the size of the originals. Outer shell of the socket is steel with hard neoprene like plastic inside. They snap on very positively, and have no slack once installed.

I have a p-n for the throttle rod assembly- Cummins 4089076.

Seems like it was around $25-30 a few years back. We got the end caps individually (re-use your old rod) for around $6 each, but I have no idea where I put the part number.
