throttle linkage

Does anyone know where i can get the replacement linkage rod with steel ends for my 92 cummins? I called cummins and they said they could,nt get them anymore.

A good dealer will have them. I got mine last year for $27. or so.

your local dodge dealer has them #4638938 or 4429799

cummins still has them also the guy that told you that did not know what he was talking about. I just got some last week

That is the only part I have found that is the same price at Dodge as it is at Cummins!

Can i just buy the steel ends and just put them on the existing rod or is the new rod different?

I haven't heard of anyone just being able to buy the steel ends. Most of us just buy the upgrade kit and let it go there. The orginal ends were plastic. If you have them look the numbers up at a dealer. I bet would be it would cross to the upgrade kit numbers when they do a check to see if they are available. Or just say N/A.

The part number for the one I got from Dodge is CANZ9700??



The only other number on the tag is 31592. Still have the linkage in the Mopar plastic bag with the tag on it. The ball ends worked fine.

Paccool. Does this #CANZ9700 contain the whole kit? The rod,2 nuts,2 steel ends, and the new ball.

I just called dodge dealer and gave them # CANZ9700 and they said it contained 3 sockets and a cable. Sounds like something different than what some are getting.

This is getting more and more confusing-- I just went to another Dodge dealer and they come up with a whole new #. So far i have the following Mopar #. s 05011955AB, 5011956AB,4638938,4429799, canz9700 for the upgraded linkage. I hate to order anything until i know what is correct.

In short you don't want/need the cable package you posted. You only need:



Mopar # 05011955AB

Cummins # 4089076



Caps only

Cummins # 3990093 and 3990094

I just placed an order for the caps to install onto my '90 model. They are comming from Cummins. Caps only at 5. 64 each. The Mopar part I called about is a kit (#05011955AB) that lists for 37. 00

I guess all i need is the caps. I wonder why they even sell the whole kit with the rod since the rod can,t wear out? Cummins said they can have the caps tomorrow.

$21. 00 tops from either Dodge or Cummins for the KIT! rdodd, get the kit, you get a purty new rod, two caps and the nut thingy thats on the throttle lever at the pump, all of which need upgrade after lots of miles. The rod can get rusty and threads can get damaged. The ball nut thingy gets worn. Get the kit. Mopar # 05011955AB Cummins # 4089076

Bill, that's the Mopar kit that is 37. 00 I phoned two Dodge dealers yesterday. They both confirmed $37. 00 ... ... . last year it was more near $21. 00. I purchased the kit two years ago for about that.

I just ordered Mopar #5011956AB from dodge dealer. It doesn,t make much since but they told me that #05011955AB is for 89-90 trucks and that #5011956AB is for 89-93 trucks. I thought all these trucks took the same part. I hope they sent me the correct linkage.

Recall Parts

i used to be a service advisor at a mopar dealer-the canz# is a kit used for a recall on some 1st gens-the other 8 digit # is the over the counter part-it's basically the same thing-- you might get your vin to dealer and see if it's covered by the recall-no matter what the guy tells you mopar's idea on recalls is that if it ever was a recall it's always a recall- they can do it again-if you still have the plastic ends it was never done anyway
