Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) HY as twin

Ever since my truck was new I have noticed that when the temps start to dip my throttle pedal and/or linkage gets kind of tight and noticibly harder to push for the first couple of minutes of the day (of if it has sat for a while). Its not like I have to throw all 220lbs of me at it, but it is noticible.

Anyone else notice or experience this? Is there anything (linkage/cable/pivot points) that I lube up to lessen or eliminate the effect?

It starts doing it when it gets about 35-40deg's and is noticible. If the temps climb it goes away. I usually just grin and bare it and get used to it every winter, but I figure why have to do that. Is there anything I can easily do to fix this?

Thanks in advance,

J-

i washed the engine in my truck once without the plastic cover on the throttle linkage in place and a little water got down in there and a few times when it got realy cold ive had the throttle freeze open i sprayed some wd 40 in the throtle cable a couple of time and it fixed it. you might try that and see if it helps

Thanks SA I will take a look at that. I do wash my engine a couple of times a year and run through a car wash that has a real heavy duty under body spray that does get up into the engine, so it will be worth a shot.

Thanks
