I have 04. 5 3500 4X4 dually 48RE and after beefing up my transmission with DTT,smart controller and Edge Attitude I've noticed that when I engage OD and lightly put my foot the throttle pedal it is pulsating down and up several inches. This happens w/o towing and almost constantly whether I"m pulling a grade or not. Has anyone else noticed their pedal moving while in OD.

Thanks

Correction--Sorry, I meant cruise control, not OD. The DTT transmission is working great, but when I engage the cruise control is when I notice the pulsating pedal.

There is no mechanical connection between the pedal and the actual throttle. Is the engine "surging" with tthe movement of the pedal or it the pedal just doing it by itself?

The engine does not seem to be surging as best as I can tell by watching the rpms and egts but I still can't help but wonder if this is normal and if it is hurting my mileage? Thanks

is the convertor going into lock up? w/ a BD pressure loc on the 47s when they lock up you can feel it in the pedal at about 55- 60 mph

Check and make sure that it's not doing it when cruise control on. If you have a power module issue it could do that. Try disconnecting it and see if the problem is still there.

Thanks Stefan,

I meant cruise control, not OD. I will try and set the Edge Attitude on 0 and see what if I still have the pulsating pedal with cruise.

Thanks T&Gauto,

On my 48re, in lockup and in OD, when I engage cruise control I can feel the pedal moving several inches back and forth.

I appreciate your input :)

Isn't that normal with the APPS up front and a cruise cable?

With the electronic throttles, the peddle just remains in the idle position when the cruise is on. Kinda sucks because you cant use your foot to feel how hard the truck is working.

Scotty

Didn't the 04's still have the APPS located on the engine or under the battery with a cable for cruise and throttle?

Not sure but thought the 05's were the first with fully electronic cruise and APPS on the firewall??
