I have always pressed down on the throttle a little to start the truck. Well, recently it seems that I am unable to slightly press on the pedal without feeling resistance, that I assume is the governor lever that once the engine is started moves freely, which it does. I took it to the dealer and all he did was increase the idle which helps starting without having to press on the pedal so much, although, sometimes I still need to press on the pedal to start it up right away. I read the Piers Governor Lever Adj procedures and wonder if that is the problem I am having. I just never felt this much resistance all the up on the pedal. It always starts though and just curious that if this is the governor lever I can address it to the mechanic (oh excuse, Technician) to look at. I don't want my hands in this as it will probably never work right again. I love reading and trying to figure things out and then getting ripped off at the dealership. Oh welll :-laf

Don't worry about it. Mine has always been that way. 240K miles on it so far. Lubing the linkage may help a little. Check your throttle cable to see if it is frayed any. If you don't find anything wrong, don't let the "technicians" charge you for fixing this "problem".
