What is the going rate for this item? Stealer wants $400 + for one of these..... :--) Surely there are some cheaper ones available, or do I need to start greasin' it up?

TIA,

Chris Webster:{

go to a local cummins shop.

I dont have the part number off hand but you could prolly find itHere if you do some digging

our just give cummins your engine serial number

hop this helps and never bend over ;)

Standard TDR advice is don't buy from the dealer... . prices are usually big-time lower at a Cummins dealer.

I just called Cummins NW 888. 289. 0900. They told me the Throttle Position Sensor is not available thru Cummins??

:(

Unforetunately the TPS is one of the few parts that is at least as expensive at Cummins as it is at Dodge :( . That's because it's a Dodge supplied part - everyone else goes direct to the ECM from a rheostat on the throttle instead of a cable that goes to the TPS. I searched when I had to buy one and couldn't find anyone that had one cheaper than the Dodge dealer. Fortunately I get a 25% discount from a dealer in my area.

Thanks

Thanks for the quick replys.....

-Steve,

Does the dealer give the discount for anybody, or do you have a special arrangement with them? Reason I ask is I am now living in Fenton MI( I need to update my profile) and, obviously, would like to save some $$$... but I wouldn't want to mess up someones deal.

On a side note, the TPS is really the least of my worries since the INJECTOR PUMP is out also. We have been talking to PDR about troubleshooting and such, but all signs lead to the INJ. PUMP. For this truck that will make (1) transmission, (2) crank sensors, (1) lift pump, (1) TPS, (2) broken pull cables on the quad doors, (1) fuel pressure guage, and now (1) Injection pump! 125000 miles, lots of heavy towing. This is my business partners truck, built in St. Louis. My truck (same exact truck 'cept mine has 3:55 gear vs. his 4:10) has only had a hose clamp come loose off of the trans cooling line, and now I have a rubbed thru trans cooling line... . built in mexico. Go figure.

Thanks for all of the help

Chris Webster

Sorry

-Bob

I have not used it before so I may have done something without knowing. But, I did just update my profile... . changed my location and changed my e-mail address. Maybe this had something to do with it?

Sorry for the trouble,

Chris
