Anyone had experience setting the TP switch? Mine got out of position earlier in the year, caused several uncommanded downshifts from OD to 3rd. Had it set at a garage, although it seems set too soft. Any acceleration <50 mph and it will down shift, re engaging cruise will cause it to happen, even when running empty. At speeds >50 mph OD will stay engaged and acceleration is normal.
Thanks in advance.

Put a bent paper clip into the center connector in the electrical TPS harness while leaving it all connected. Connect the + lead of a digital voltmeter to the paperclip and the - lead to a good ground. Turn on the ignition but do not start. At rest the TPS should read 1 volt + or - . 02 volts. At full throttle it should read 2. 3-2. 7 volts higher then the at rest reading.
If a reading of + or - 1 volt can not be obtained at rest by loosening the 2 6mm bolts and rotating the TPS try adjusting the throttle linkage at the flat and nut and shorten or lenghthen as required. If you still cannot obtain a correct reading at WOT or rest... replace TPS.

your 93 is adjusted to the same specs, but to adjust the sensor you need a 10mm open end wrench, the sensor is adjusted from the underside right where the sensor meets the pump ... ... ... Rick

This tip comes from a post by Don but I don't remember which one, it works great:
Put a small safety pin through the center lead to the TPS connector, you can just leave it there. Then all you need is your volt meter and a 10mm wrench.

HAPPY RAMMIN!!!

yes just had the same problem, My only solution was to replace the switch. You dodge dealer keeps them in stock. Cost is high $250 US . but it made a great differenc. I had not realized how bad it was at shifing when it should. My truck runs and shift like anew one.

Many thanks for the tips, part numbers etc. I don't own a digital voltmetre but I think I can borrow one.
Thanks again.
