When driving in 3rd gear with O/D button in or out, transmission will act like it shifts into neutral, engine revs up and truck slows down. Had to put transmission into neutral then back into drive to get it to operate normally. This happened under light throttle after hitting a bump in the road. When driving in 3rd gear with O/D button in or out, transmission will start acting like it’s up shifting and down shifting rather violently. Need to depress O/D button to solve problem . This occurs around 50mph. I’m not sure if it’s shifting or if the engine is surging. I ran a search for throttle position sensor problems and came up empty. From what I remember about the post on TPS’s this act’s like a bad sensor. Any ideas, any fixes? Thanks, Jeff

It doesn't quite sound like the TPS is your problem since you describe the problem with OD off as well. One thing to do is clean your TPS. This can be done without removing it, just spray aerosol electronic cleaner were the shaft enters the TPS while working the throttle back and forth. It very well could solve your problem and is a good place to start.

Check your fluid level.

Check the linkage on your Pressure-Loc.

Make sure connectors from TPS to trany (and evething in between) are seated.

Try driving a while with the power to the "Pressure Loc" vacuum valve disconnected. I have experienced the violent shifting on occasion while pulling the trailer. When I disconnect the "Pressure Loc" the occasional violent shifting stops. I have not been able to reproduce what starts the shifting. It appears that the torque converter clutch is cycling back and forth between lock and lunlock.

This first started when I got the DTT setup. Bill said his setup works with most Pressure Loc setups but doesn't with some. I have been thinking of removing my Pressure Loc.

Fixed Thanks

Thanks for the help. The linkage on the pressure lock had came lose. Tightend up and readjusted, problem solved. Thanks again.
