This is the lower spring on '94 -'96.

The double spring is on '97 & '98 models. I've never heard of a retrofit but it wouldn't be difficult, just expensive.

what year is that pic from? on my 1996 there are only attachments gor te spring in the front of the pic with the plastic clips the spring i got just has bent over spring ends and i cant figure out where it goes. my vision stinks so i cant see or feel any holes to put the hook ends in

The bracket in the top picture, post #6, is attached to the horizontal bolt of the IP lower support. The spring end does not go into a hole, it loops over the same type stud as the other end does.

Both ends of the spring goes over studs. The rear one is on the pump linkage, the front one is attached to the pump support bracket.

Mine is like the diagram in post 4 except I had 2 springs, I think all I know is that the throttle doesn't snap back and I found a broken spring under the truck

You also have one down on the injector pump linkage, just like the picture I posted for '94-'96 engines.

Mine just broke today so it now has a hardware store spring on it! Every time i open the hood on this thing lately something breaks or falls off the stupid injection pump linkage
