I installed the 4's from Lukewarmwater last week and the first test drive was impressive. I did notice that the throttle was very sensitive, is this normal? With my DDTTPM on timing only mode the difference is incredible, I wish I could have bought the truck new this way.

Yes, bigger injectors deliver more fuel for a given increment of accelerator pedal movement - therefore, they are more sensitive to accelerator pedal position.

Thanks Rusty, I'm guessing that it takes awhile to learn to be smoother with the throttle to lose some of the jerkyness when on rough roads.

This is one reason I am considering whether or not I want to go with the MAD ECM. Because I have the 4s on order (should be here soon), I think that when combined with the ECM, that the throttle would be almost unliveable.

It would definitely be sensitive enough that I wouldn't want to let someone else drive the truck.

Mine is so sensitave I can not even use cruise control empty on level ground! Wne towing my 6000#+ trailer on moderate grades I really have a hard time keeping the boost between 15-25LBS. It wants to shoot up to 30+ and accellerate! I havn't tried disconnecdting the fueling box yet but I'd figure that would help quite a bit.

there has to be something said for fluid coupling in an auto. My set up works perfect and cruise works like stock.

I can see where the auto would be a little easier to drive. I haven't tried cruise yet to see how it works, but the drive I took yesterday on a smooth road was better. There might be a way to put a throttle spring somewhere to slow the throttle response down a bit.

With my truck, box off, it drives alot like stock. There is more power, but it's not snap on and off. Now, turn the box on any level and it with do that race up, drop back routine.

I disconnected my pump wire tonight and the cruise works quite well. Unfortuinately the Banks box is not adjustable so I will install a switch in the cab just for the pump wire. With it off I will still have the boost fooler. The truck feels like a DOG without the Banks hooked up. If I took out the DDII's I'd probably have to trade it in!!!!!

Give yourself a little time... you'll adjust :)

I have a mile long driveway that has some stutters on it. Sometimes you just gotta take your foot off, come to a near stop, and try it again lol. Have you ever driven one of those old detroit diesels?

The more I drive it the easier it gets to be smooth. The 4's did help calm the grabby nature of the CON FE, just like most have said. I made the right choice for me, especially after reading how many on here have gotten smaller injectors and then later upgraded. These 4's will do just what I wanted. Thanks Mike.
