I have a 1995 Dodge Ram. A while back the return spring on the throttle cable broke (the small one towards the top of the pump). We put a new one on and then the cable started to stick. So we put a heavier spring on. It still sticks and I don't know wear the problem is. It isn't the cable because I took it off at the pump and it moves freely. I don't know if the linkage has been recalled. How can you tell if it has? Is the sticking problem in the linkage or should I be looking somewhere else?

Your truck should have had the cable recall and still can. The sticking is caused by a frayed cable hanging up inside the outer sheath. The sticking can also be caused by rusted ball/socket joints on the linkage, a little oil will fix that.
