A friend has recently purchased a new 2005 2500 Diesel with auto xmiss. He is not a member yet. I told him I would ask about his problem for him. He has a problem with the accelerator (throttle) sticking. He has to shut down, coast to the side of the road and wait awhile. Doesn't seem to matter if the engine is hot or cold. Time between occurrences vary but it seems to happen pretty often. Can anyone shed some light on this? Thanks.

I think he meant auto transmission.

To answer your question - This IS NOT normal. Have him take it into the dealer for diagnosis and fix.

My throttle stuck wide open about 6 weeks ago when it was -40 I told the dealer and all they said was cold weather does funny things. I never pushed the issue but It has potential to be serious.

Now you really have me confused!! I see you have a "SO 5 sp". Man that really leaves me warped?????????? Really, everyone, thanks for the input. The guy did take it to his dealer. Of course it wouldn't do anything bad in front of them.
