The other day I was passing a car and put the pedal to the floor, after passing the pedal would not release and kept climing speed!I hit the brakes hard, kicked the pedal,no help. I finally turned the key off,and the pedal released. I was going better than 90 at this time. I have a 05 ,2500 witha 6 speed manual. Any sugestions asto what cauised this or how to prevent this???

Thanks,

Pete Hall

Sounds like a bad motor mount to me.

Are 3rd gens fly by wire?

I think the later 3rd Gens may be. My 03. 5 (April 03 build date) has a cable that goes into the engine compartment and is connected to the APPS behind a plastic cover above the CP3. From there it is wire.

If it's fly by wire then never mind, but if there is a mechanical connection between the pedal and the engine then I would check the motor mounts. Specifically drivers side.

The 05 and up are drive by wire, no throttle cable and no TV cable on the APPS. The APPS mounts to the firewall right above the accelerator pedal.

:-laf I have had my floormats find the wrong place at the most inopertune times... ... ... ... . it can be exciting
