You guys wouldn't believe it!!!!!!!

My truck was in this morning to do the TOB job and I just took a call saying they won't do anything now because DC wants the whole transmission torn down!!!!!!!!!! Now I have to take it to Virgina Beach and do with out it for who knows how long... And this is the 6 speed!?!?!?!? What the heck can go wrong in a box full of gears in three months!!! Should've got an auto! Well ok, I still would rather drive the 6spd but so much for my theory of manuals being simpler and less prone to problems!!!

Just what the heck is going on with these NV5600s? DC is mumbling something about input shaft end play problems. Hope it's just my truck and not wide spread...

Thanks for the sypathetic ear. Don't know who I could complain to without the TDR.

I feel a little better. When this is over, I'll give you all a full report.

:(

well my 5 speed had a 7MM socket inside it, and it did $3000 worth of damage to that "box full of gears"

seriously, they have a kit out they are putting in the transmission now, yours probably met the criteria. what did you complain of, hard/grinding shifting I'll bet!!!

oh yea, they gave me a dodge Neon to drive for a week.

I asked them if they could mount it up under my truck, in place of the spare tire. :D :D

GRINDING AT LOW SPEED

I had done a post on the noise a while back and seemed to be the only one with my problem.

When my truck is at "taxiing" speeds say, below 15mph with the clutch out and in 1st, 2nd, 3rd and maybe even 4th (but by then there's other ambient noise so it's hard to say) I hear and feel a grinding noise. You have to concentrate but if I show'd you, you'd definitely hear it. I can even feel it in the floor board. It's kind of a low rumble-grinding and only when slow. I noticed it the first red light I came to a stop to. It's done it fm mile one.

Sound familiar?

Ian.
