NO! There are two things on our trucks that need to be taken care of electronic wise to stay happy, first the map sensor that tells the computer how much air pressure is going into our motors, that is where about every chip has to go to fool the computer by sending it a false lower reading and get its info on motor load to determine how to fuel. The second is the electronic wastegate actuator on 04. 5 325 HP model motors, which is a piece of nothing more than a piece of emmisions equipment to help the wastegate stay closed longer for faster spool then slams open on full boost to keep boost in safe limits.
The 299 low boost code is because of the reading of the MAP sensor but it boils down to having lower boost pressure at cruising speeds. I have had this code a few times and it only happens to me when I am or have been on the highways cruising for a while.
I used to run 65 mph at 10-11 lbs with my stock charger, now with my SPS 66 I get 5 -6 lbs at the same speed. I can drive my truck for weeks on end stop and go, if I get on a freeway for a few dozen miles at a steady cruise I usually get the code.
